I want to thank the club representatives who attended the USAT Club Summit this past Saturday at St. Anthony’s weekend. Although only five clubs were represented (more on this later) the information sharing which occurred was very helpful to those in attendance. So many of our clubs are getting great results in growing their clubs in their local areas, and these folks are tremendous resources for each of you as your club faces its own challenges.
Thanks also to Liz from Ironman (and her dad!) for being present at the meeting and showing her support for our club focus. Also, thanks to Bruce Mills, race director of Longleaf Triathlon where we will hold our 2nd annual Club Championship in October. I shared the following link at the meeting. Please take a moment to watch this promotional video and share it among your members. Our goal is to have all of the region’s clubs represented at this event and promote friendly competition among and between clubs. Last year’s event was a blast, and there will be even more activities for clubs this year.
At last count we have over 60 USAT registered clubs in the Florida Region. Several emails went out beginning in January regarding the Club Summit at St. Anthony’s. With so few clubs attending the event we can assume that hosting informational events such as this have limited value for clubs. With this in mind however, please know we (USAT Florida Regional Council) are here to assist you with any issues your club needs. Feel free to reach out to me whenever you have questions, concerns or issues regarding your club.
Thanks for all you do to help make our region so successful.
